Thanksgiving and Christmas are two of the biggest holidays of the year in which people are traveling, but there are reasons you can find to travel during all of the holidays. What are you experiences with Halloween and travelings throughout your life?
Right now, Halloween is fast approaching, and I’m living in a tourist city. This is the fourth year in a row I’ve seen people traveling on Halloween. Some of them are renting condos for the off-season, so they are staying long term. I see people putting up orange strings of lights on their balconies, and I see people getting ready with decorations in the yards as usual.
What else do people like to do here on Halloween? They love to either go to the Boardwalk or Broadway at the Beach. Broadway at the Beach is a little more oriented towards the kids and trick or treating. The Boardwalk, especially later at night at centered around Plyler Park, is mostly for older kids and adults.
The Boardwalk is where the haunted houses are located, and it is also where the zombies are roaming free. Some of the people look pretty gruesome, and of course Myrtle Beach Fries is serving up funnel cakes and much more, and all the other establishments are open and welcoming guests as well.
I am always on the go traveling, but Halloween and travelings is one thing I don’t do. It’s quite ironic that it is the one holiday I’ve decided to make a Myrtle Beach tradition out of over the last four years. This will be the 4th time I’ve gone to the Boardwalk, and I will tell you why I’ve chosen Halloween as the one holiday I’m always here for and enjoy with my dog on my own. 
For starters, there is a season here, so most of the locals have most of their fun outside of the season, which runs from May to Labor Day. Now that doesn’t mean I don’t have fun during the summer, but it just means there are better opportunities, when it’s easier to get around to do things.
For Thanksgiving and Christmas, I’m always trying to get home, or one year my sister was able to come visit me when I couldn’t get home to family. So, Halloween is a holiday out of the year where I can always be here enjoying what Myrtle Beach has to offer. So if you think what I mentioned sounds fun vs. the same old Halloween stuff that towns have going on regularly, maybe it’s time this year for a spontaneous Halloween vacation trip.
